About C. Steven Smith, MD.
Born and raised in the Missouri Delta on a family farm, Dr. Smith, the oldest of four children, developed an early appreciation for the relationship of agriculture and pets in the daily lives of his family.
His first experience in healthcare was working as an orderly in a small hospital and nursing home as a teenager. His interest in medicine grew as a result of his father’s severe and disabling skin allergy, as well as, his own plaguing respiratory allergy.
After earning degrees in Biology and Chemistry at a state university in Western Kentucky, Dr. Smith enrolled at the renowned University of Louisville Medical School. There he pursued a combination Masters of Immunology/Medical Doctor degree program. His immunology studies, molecular causes of asthma, guided his specialty pursuit in allergy, asthma and immunology.
After graduating with honors, Dr. Smith completed a three-year pediatric residency and became board certified in Pediatrics. Afterward, he studied in a two-year subspecialty training program in clinical allergy and immunology where he received board certification. He was then elected to a prestigious fellowship in both the academy and college of allergy, asthma and immunology, his chosen field.
Pursuing his life’s ambition as a private practitioner, Dr. Smith recognized the need for applications which allowed allergy and asthma sufferers to live with the environmental influences that gave them their illnesses, rather than denying themselves the pleasure of pets and plants.
Dr. Smith’s privately funded personal research over the past two decades produced a number of allergic disease containment products that are just now reaching consumers. He is proud and confident of the products’ ability to fill a need in the treatment of an illness that is increasing at an astounding rate of 50% each decade
